Hodges Brothers - I'm Gonna Rock Some Too (1956)
Starday Custom from Osyko, Mississippi. This was their own record label and only a few hundred copies was pressed. In the 1960s the three Hodges brothers and their mother still lived in a one room country shack without any electricity in rural Bogue Chitto, Mississippi. They were very poor and didn't own much more than a few donkeys and chickens. They recorded one more rockabilly song in 1958 "Honey Talk" and also a few hillbilly records. Felix (1923-1979) was the fiddler, Ralph (1927-1976) was the guitar / mandolin player and did most of the singing. James (1932-) was the rhythm player.

masterpiece
So many memories when I listen to this. I was around 8 years old when the CAPS practice in our living room. I am 72 now.
Sadly Mr Noland passed away a few weeks ago, RIP, Terry
I think Sid King was the Rythm Pioneer for the Sound of Janis Martin, Carl Lee Perkins and Co. , and the Stomp Sound of Rockabilly, the "Fast Blues" . I love this Rockabilly Sound since i was 6 years old .... My Mother was a Fan of this Music and get a reunion Album from Sid and Bill ( i think it was 2017 er 18)...a 90 years old Rockabilly - Woman, she died with proud 91 years... but i know Rockabilly gonna stay forever ! 😁👍
Awsome song
Real Rockabilly with the country feeling how it was meant to be unlike today heavy rock covered in tattoos dark clothing like goths that's not Rockabilly
No joke I love how he says I gotta go get my bahaby
Rocking little number. Really has an Oklahoma/Texas Western Swing feel to it.
Influenced by Danny Cedrone of ‘ Rock Around the Clock ‘ fame.

Yes, Presleys Sun recordings was definitely a big influence when the Hodges Brothers recorded this song.
@@50sRocKabilly And if I remember Honey Talk sounds a little like Baby Let's Play House. Basically, these guys played bluegrass (albeit without a banjo.) But bluegrass and early rockabilly are pretty close at times.
You can’t beat 50s rockabilly

Bud and Melba were our next door neighbors in Seminole Texas for many years. They would take our son to the “farm” to feed the horses. Could not have had a better neighbor.
wicked reconding!
Great performance! Here's a tidbit: Sid's song, "Sag, Drag, and Fall," is an answer song/parody of Big Joe Turner's wonderful R&B/Jump Blues 1955 hit, "Flip, Flop, and Fly," which has strong similarities to his earlier hit, "Shake, Rattle, and Roll." It's well worth a listen: ruclips.net/video/aNpvOUmXglM/видео.html
Great song and singer!! 🎵🎶🥁🎤🎸Thank you!
The pure original Rockabilly sound with slapbass and guitars. (only 1 of the 6 songs have drums).
